Who this guide is for
The service business owner who already gets it: more and more customers ask an AI "who is the best one for this near me" before they decide. Now that ChatGPT is free with no text cap (OpenAI, August 6, 2026), they ask more than ever. This guide walks you, step by step, into being that answer - in both languages your market asks in.
You do not need a tech team or a budget to start. You need one afternoon and this list.
The idea in one sentence
The AI names the businesses it can find, that it trusts, and that it can cite. Miss one of the three and it skips you. This guide works all three, in English and Spanish.
Front 1: getting found
The AI does not invent you. It names you if you exist in a form it can read.
- Your service and your city, written plainly. On your site, your Google profile, your socials. Not "tailored solutions," but "emergency plumbing in Fort Lauderdale." Specific wins.
- Consistent information everywhere. Same name, same address, same phone, same services. If your profile says one thing and your site another, the AI hesitates and skips you.
- Content that answers real questions. Not brochures. The questions your customer actually asks: what it costs, how long it takes, who it is for and who it is not.
- In both languages. If your customer asks in Spanish and your content only exists in English, you do not exist for that half of the market.
Front 1 checklist:
- My service and city appear in my site title and my Google profile.
- Name, address, and phone are identical across site, Google, and socials.
- I have at least 3 pages or posts answering real customer questions.
- All of the above also exists in my market's second language.
Front 2: earning trust
Being found is not enough. The AI prefers sources it trusts.
- Real, recent reviews. They are the social proof the AI reads. Ask after every job done well; reply to all of them, good and bad.
- Mentions off your own site. Others naming you (directories, articles, forums where your customer asks) weighs more than what you say about yourself.
- Concrete details, not adjectives. "We respond in under 5 minutes" beats "excellent service." Specific gets believed; generic gets ignored.
- A named, credentialed author. Content signed by a real person with experience weighs more than anonymous text.
Front 2 checklist:
- I ask for reviews systematically and reply to all of them.
- I am mentioned on at least 2 sites that are not mine.
- I swapped 3 generic lines for concrete details.
- My content is signed by a real person with their role.
Front 3: being citable
The AI extracts what is structured. Make its job easy.
- The answer up top. Answer the question in the first lines of every page or post. The AI and the busy human read the top.
- Clean structure. Clear headings, bullets, tables. No thousand-word wall of text with no air.
- One number or range per claim. Price from, estimated time, who it serves. What can be cited, gets cited.
- A comparison page. The one that puts your service against the alternatives and says who you are the best fit for and who you are not. It converts the AI-referred visitor best.
Front 3 checklist:
- Each key page answers the question in the first 2 or 3 lines.
- My information is in bullets and tables, not walls of text.
- Each service has a concrete detail (price from, time, who it serves).
- I have (or will build) an honest comparison page.
The truth test (5 minutes, free)
- Open ChatGPT, which is free now.
- Ask, as a customer would: "who is the best [your service] in [your city]." Do it in English and in Spanish.
- Note: do you show up? In which language do you and in which do you not? Who does it name when you do not?
- Repeat in your Google profile and in Search Console: see which questions already bring you people.
- The language and the front where you did worst is where you start.
Your one-week plan
| Day | Action |
|---|---|
| Monday | Fix service and city on your site and profile, in both languages. |
| Tuesday | Ask 5 happy customers for reviews; reply to the ones you have. |
| Wednesday | Rewrite your main page with the answer up top and in bullets. |
| Thursday | Turn 3 generic lines into concrete details. |
| Friday | Build the skeleton of your comparison page. |
The next step
Showing up is the first step. Turning that mention into a customer is the next, and that is where a lot of businesses leave money on the table. If you want us to look at your specific case, in English or Spanish, text us ANSWER on WhatsApp: 👉 https://wa.me/17866869497?text=ANSWER
