ChatGPT Is Now Free and Unlimited for Everyone. Your Next Customer Is Already Asking It About You

ChatGPT is free with unlimited text chats since Aug 6, 2026 (OpenAI). People ask more than ever. How to be the answer the AI gives, in Spanish and English, before your competitor.

The short answer: on August 6, 2026, OpenAI dropped the message cap on free ChatGPT accounts. Text chats are now free and unlimited for anyone (OpenAI, 2026). One honest caveat: the unlimited part is text only; file uploads and images still have limits. Either way, the effect is the same. The number of people asking an AI which business to hire did not creep up. It jumped. The question "who is the best X near me" is moving from the search bar to the assistant. Here is how to actually be that answer, and the edge almost no local agency is giving you: doing it in Spanish and English, native in both.

The day "free" changed your market

Here is the plain version. Asking an AI just became free, with no cap, for everyone. Not for the people who pay. Not for the tech crowd. For your neighbor, for your customer, for the person who was still typing into Google yesterday.

When something goes from "costs money or hits a limit" to "free and unlimited," people use it differently. They use it for everything. And one of the things people use AI for is the exact thing that decides your revenue: who to hire, where to buy, which of the local options is actually worth it.

This is not "more people will start asking." They already are. The door opened all the way this week.

Why this is sales news, not tech news

It is easy to read the headline and think "another AI update, not my problem." It is your problem because of a very short chain:

Everyone sells "be the answer." The difference is how

Let me be straight with you, because honesty runs this shop. We are not the only ones saying this. There are good agencies, some right here in South Florida, pushing the "become the answer buyers find first" message. It is a good message. They are right.

So if everyone is aiming at the same target, where is the difference? Two places, and neither is decoration:

  • Doing it in both languages, native in each. South Florida is bilingual. Your buyer asks the AI in Spanish or in English depending on how they woke up that day. Most agencies only work your visibility in English. If your business is not legible to the AI in Spanish, you are invisible to half the people already asking. We build Spanish and English, each one native, not a stiff translation of the other.
  • Doing it without a stack held together by tape. A lot of shops bolt the solution onto a tower of tools wired together with duct tape that falls over on its own. We keep it on one connected system, not a house of cards.

The message belongs to everyone. The bilingual, clean execution is where you actually win or lose the customer who asks in Spanish.

What the AI actually does to decide who to name

It is not magic and it is not luck. The AI tends to name businesses that clear three bars, and all three are things you can work on:

If it can find you, trust you, and cite you, you show up in the answer. If one of the three is missing, it skips you. That simple.

The honest objection (before you think it)

I will say it for you, because I had it too: "Todd, this sounds like I have to run out and buy something urgent because a news story dropped."

I will stop that right there. You do not have to run, and you do not have to spend a fortune. ChatGPT going free does not change what you need to do. It changes how many people are on the other side waiting for the answer. The underlying work is the same one we already recommended: make your business findable, trustworthy, and citable by AI. What changed is that it pays off faster now, because more people are asking.

And no, showing up in ChatGPT will not pay your bills by itself. Getting named is the first step. Turning that mention into a customer is a separate job. This blog is the step before that: being in the answer at all.

What to do this week (without buying anything)

If you want the exact playbook we use with clients to become the answer the AI gives, in Spanish and English (all three fronts: getting found, earning trust, being citable, with the checklist of what to review), text us the word ANSWER on WhatsApp and we will send it straight over: 👉 https://wa.me/17866869497?text=ANSWER
